Day #5175 (Thu., Mar. 7, 2024) – Signed Cast

Bobby has started the cast signing process (see photo to the right). He took his new “cat’s eye” necklace to school today. I was teasing him that somewhere out there is a tiger with only one eye because of him. “Dad, stop” was his reply (as usual).

After dropping Bobby off at Glenwood this morning I went to my first “monthly maintenance” allergy shot.

Picked up Katie this afternoon but we had to rush back home for a phone call with Amanda and our friends from Courtenay. We got so involved with this that we almost forgot to pick Bobby up at Spence’s Farm this evening… 🙂

We contacted Bobby’s teacher, Miss Hatley, and here’s what she said about his latest performance: He’s doing pretty good this week. He has needed some reminders to stop playing with games (he brought a small chess set and was playing with it during morning work time when he was supposed to be reading a Chinese book). He also has needed some reminders to stop talking and stay on task. Yesterday he was lying under a table reading a book during a lesson. A lot of students are struggling right now, so this is not just Bobby.

So we booked our tickets to Courtenay on Sunday. Bobby’s birthday party is on Saturday and my wife was thinking of cancelling it but I said that we might as well just go ahead. It’s only Ethan and Lucia, and they will pretty well be just running around and having fun…not like the intensive “all in” birthday parties that we used to have for the kids when they were younger.
