Day #5176 (Fri., Mar. 8, 2024) – Die-Cast Pickup Truck

I dropped Bobby off at Glenwood this morning, then went to Panera Bread for a cup of coffee. Today is going to be a busy day so I pretty well took my “light roast” with almond milk to go…

We are going to be giving Dzenen our Camry so that he can take Bobby to school next week, so I took it to the car wash to make it nice and clean for him. On the way I stopped off at Walgreens to get Bobby’s birthday gift from me, a die cast pickup truck (see photo to the right).

I picked up Katie at school this afternoon and we went to Starbucks for a coffee, making this Daddy/Daughter Chat Day #10. We each got a drink with a sandwich today, which is rather rare. The bill game to $26+ so I’m glad it is rare! I’m not sure how people can afford to eat out anymore. Katie remarked how small her sandwich was.

This evening I went to Harris Teeter to pick up the Oreo ice cream cake that Bobby requested for his party tomorrow. I also picked up a “9” candle to put on it (see photo to the left). We will be getting pizza for the main meal, and I also picked up a large UNC cookie and some “gummy worm” cupcakes for additional treats.

My wife booked tickets for our trip to Comox last night, and an Air B&B to stay in as well. This evening I reserved our rental car. We leave early on Sunday.
