Day #5210 (Thu., Apr. 11, 2024) – Gibson Les Paul

On the way to Glenwood this morning Bobby and I talked about the fact that he does not like mac & cheese. He told me that there is just way too much cheese on this dish. This lead to the discussion of how cheese is made, and the topic of “curds & whey”. I learned that he has never heard the rhyme about “Little Miss Muffet”, which is famous for the “curds & whey” line.

Also on the drive to Glenwood Bobby and I talked about Elvis, and how the announcer would always say “Elvis has left the building” at concert venues and people would stick around for hours after the concert in hopes of seeing or meeting him.

The Gibson Les Paul that I ordered online via “Sweetwater” came via FedEx today (see photo to the right). I had to stay home to sign for it. What a beautiful machine. I can see why people rave about Les Paul guitars. It will be a great asset for the music studio that I’m going to build in Courtenay. Speaking of which, Katie has plans to get a guitar when we are in Courtenay. I told her that we would go to a local music store so that she could try the various “right-handed” models out so that she could find one that is right for her. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we will buy one from them, we might purchase it online, but it is a great way to touch the various instruments and figure out which one you want.

I picked up Bobby at the bus stop this afternoon. He didn’t want dinner when we got home, but he sure enjoyed the little candies (see photo to the left) that Sweetwater packaged into the guitar box for us to enjoy.

Katie took the electric piano to her room this evening to play some of the compositions that she has come up with. Once we get to Courtenay who knows, we might make a record together.
