Day #5243 – (Tue., May 14, 2024) – Last Haircut From CiCi
Well folks, yet another “Teacher Work Day” today. Interesting choice of words don’t you think? It conjures up thoughts of the teachers just sitting around sipping on tea and coffee, eating finger sandwiches, watching soap operas (the few that are left), and springing into action like firemen when this day arrives. They all grab their student assignments and go down the fireman pole and race to their posts for the day!
Incidentally, Bobby asked what “finger sandwiches” were the other day so I had to explain it to him. Here’s the dictionary definition: “A tea sandwich (also referred to as finger sandwich) is a small prepared sandwich meant to be eaten at afternoon teatime to stave off hunger until the main meal.”
It’s a busy day today, even though the kids have no school. Katie went over to Tinsley’s house for a get together with Tinsley and her other friends”. Katie’s friends bought her a lot of going away presents. Leah gave her a collage of “Tomothee Chalomet” photos.
We all ended up at CiCi’s to get our hair cut. Bobby went first, and then proceeded to perform his favorite chore, sweeping up the hair from the floor. My wife went next, then Katie, then me. My wife left early with Bobby to drop him off at the pool so he could spend time with Ethan. This will be the last haircut from CiCi, perhaps forever… We did invite her to Courtenay, and I told her that if I win the lottery she can become my personal hairstylist, kind of like Elvis would have… 🙂 You can see Bobby and CiCi “hamming it up” in the photo to the right.
The gelato that I picked up at Aldi the other day was such a hit that I went back and picked up two pints of the stuff this evening. This time, one berry and the other peach. Equally tasty!
