Day #5317 – (Sat., July 27, 2024) – Goose Spit

Katie has been developing this idea for a graphic novel about a vampire prince. You can see his bedroom bedroom in the photo to the left. Looks pretty good, don’t you think?

This morning I made plans with a contractor to come over to our place on Wednesday afternoon to look at our garage and give some estimate on how much it would cost to insulate and drywall it. He said roughly about $15,000 but that could probably go either way once he sees it. He said that he doesn’t do paint jobs, so I would have to hire that out, but most of his clients just do that work themselves. Hmmm… I think I might be able to handle that. They have long poles that rollers so on to reach the ceilings… We’ll see…

I decided that I would also submit another application to the Home Depot website, and select another category, this time “fences” instead of “gates”. Well, I’m not sure of the difference, but this time I did get a contractor respond. He seemed very eager to automate our gate, and he will be stopping by on Wednesday afternoon as well to give an estimate.

Bobby spent most of the day watching his iPad. I’m sure hoping that once school starts up, and he gets more friends in the neighborhood, all this “Screen Time” will go “Bye Bye”. I’m also hoping that having a workshop in the garage will spark his desire to build things.

This evening I took Katie out for a drive. The idea was to stop off at Starbucks for a coffee, but she wasn’t really interested in that once we hit the road. She just wanted to talk, so effectively a Daddy/Daughter Chat Day. In the end we just went for a drive and ended up down at “Goose Spit”. We got out of the van to see the walkway to the beach, but didn’t actually venture down to the beach. There was someone swimming (see photo to the right)!
