Day #5325 – (Sun., Aug. 4, 2024) – Miracle Beach!

My wife and I both got accepted to the Huband Park Neighbors Facebook Group this morning. This is nice so we will now be able to keep up with the neighbors and notify them of upcoming events. For example, we’re thinking of having a play date at a local park soon. This will be a great way for Bobby to meet some neighborhood kids. I think it would be great to fill up our large cooler with Mr. Freeze frozen treats and hand them out to kids. This will be especially welcome if the weather is hot!

At noon today I went to Staples to get the HUGE poster of a Roblox backdrop that I created and submitted in the wee hours this morning. I plan to attach it to the metal sheet that I picked up at Home Depot yesterday. I’m going to create a metallic backdrop with these two items, and Bobby and I can make little clay Roblox figures with a magnet glued on the back to attach them. A perfect activity for Daddy/Son Days, or at least I hope.

My wife and I took the kids to Miracle Beach (see photo to the left) this afternoon. It’s a nice little beach to the north of Courtenay. It was a bit rocky on the shoreline, but there was a little path to the beach at one end, perfect for me. I went wading a bit, and the water was not cold at all. The restrooms were well taken care of and everyone there seemed nice and respectful. Bobby enjoyed playing with the sand, one of his favorite activities when he goes to the beach.

As we were leaving the beach area we saw a deer with her baby, and then a bear appeared! (see photo to the right).

I found a number of tiny little stones on the beach, perfect for the stone/cement house model that Katie and I are thinking of building. Katie was regretting not bringing her sketch pad to draw the beautiful scenery.

We rushed back this evening so that Bobby could play online with Ethan, but his mother never picked up. I’m not sure why, but perhaps Ethan is being punished for something? At any rate, Bobby was very upset. Ethan has been on vacation for a week and this would have been the first time in a while that they could play Roblox and Minecraft together.
