I heard from Anthony at Orca Electric & Drywall this morning. He plans to be here tomorrow morning at 9 with guys and supplies in order to start work on insulating our garage. I’ll be ready!
We have two new recliners for the main house (see photo to the left). My wife and Katie brought the old recliner over to the “Barn Suite” this afternoon.
I ran some errands around town today. First up was mailing a “Google Dot” to their HQ in the US. To do this I ended up at the tiny little post office inside the Home Hardware store in downtown Courtenay. I then drove over to Staples to make an Amazon return. They have an Amazon return counter near where you pick up your printouts. They gave me a $5 coupon off $20 (I’m not sure why), so picked up some printer paper and packing tape and got $5 off! Good deal!
While in the area I drove to see, or attempt to see, Maple Lake. I’m told that this is a good place to go fishing, but I’m not sure as I never saw it. The only road to this location that I could see on the map was blocked off with “No Trespassing” signs. I’m not sure what’s up with that… I see that there is a fishing store across the road from Canadian Tire so I might stop in there and find out the deal and a good place for fishing. Bobby has been asking about going fishing as of late…
I’ve been extremely tired (more so than usual) the last few days. It dawned on me this evening why… I have stopped running the air conditioner in the “Barn Suite” in order to save money. Contrary to what many people outside of this area may think, it can get very hot in Courtenay in the summer, especially if you are in the top floor of a “Barn Suite” without air conditioning!
UPDATE: I decided to fix the screen door out to the patio late tonight. A “hack job” with a screen repair kit and some duct tape, but it keeps the flies out and it really does improve the air quality. I’m writing this after midnight, have lots of energy, and am not tired. So much so in fact that I cleaned the kitchen…
