Day #5366 – (Sat., Sept. 14, 2024) – Four Combo Meals

My wife’s father has aorta aneurysm of 7 cm. They are looking into surgery options. His aorta is 1.6 cm wide so it’s very dangerous. Nobody knows for how long it has been this bad.

Well, with all the sickness there was limited garage work done today. My wife and I hoped to finish painting, but it is what it is. I did open the 5 gallon drum of “eggshell” white and tried it out on the wall. It’s hard to tell where the primer and where the paint are, the color is that similar. The poor little fellow in the picture to the right got himself stuck on the wet primer…

My wife has finally succumbed to the “whatever” we have this week. So much so that although she made another appointment for Katie at Urgent Care this afternoon, she could not drive. I drove and offered to take Katie inside for the appointment but my wife wanted to so I stayed in the van. Bobby and I are both fine…as of today…

This time the doctor did prescribe something! Some antibiotics for Katie and some ear drops as well. The problem is, there is a factory shortage of these ear drops so I ended up driving around Courtenay to find a pharmacy that had them. Shoppers Drug Mart in downtown Courtenay (which I might add is one of the most unhelpful pharmacies I have ever been to), and then London Drugs in the Driftwood Mall. The Chinese pharmacist at London Drugs who waited on me was very helpful, and it was through her that I found out that there was a factory shortage of the ear drops that the doctor prescribed.

At any rate, the prescription wait for the antibiotics was going to take 20 minutes to fulfill, so we drove to the Church in downtown Courtenay where the viola/violin lessons are going to be to get acquainted with the area.

My wife didn’t feel like cooking this evening so we stopped at Wendy’s on the way home. Katie wanted two cheeseburgers, so I ended up getting her two combo meals, and of course I had to get the same for Bobby. My wife had a plain baked potato with a large chili and I had nothing…I will make a nice healthy vegan meal in the “Barn Suite” this evening!
