Well, it’s 2:32 pm and I just got up. Plan to go back to bed soon. I think this means that I’m getting better. I remember when I used to be sick and cough and cough, and once I got antibiotics I would stop coughing and sleep and sleep because without the coughing I could sleep and sleep. I think I’m in that phase again, and my COVID is going away, hopefully…
Katie’s art is really coming along (see photo to the left).
Katie stopped by the “Barn Suite” this evening and we had a chance to talk about school and friends and Gavin. She told me that Roxie invited her to sit with her friends at lunch, and Gavin happened to be one of those friends. We joked at how he wears a baseball cap. Katie told me that he recently broke up with his girlfriend and that he told her about a number of his insecurities.
It appears that Roxie is gradually becoming her best friend in the area. They sat together in math class and shared interests and stories.
Katie was thirsty so I gave her some of the fruit punch that Bobby had when we had a Daddy/Son Day a few weeks ago. She also munched on the “Wine Gums” he had, and we talked about why they have the word “Wine” in there… Here’s what Copilot told me: “Wine gums are chewy, firm, pastille-type sweets that originated in the United Kingdom. Despite their name, they do not contain any wine or alcohol. They were invented by Charles Gordon Maynard in 1909, and the name was chosen to suggest a sophisticated alternative to alcohol.”.
Katie told me that he favorite subject so far is social studies because they are studying about Papau New Guinea. I told her that this is where the “Birds of Paradise” are from and scientists believe that there are some animals that have not been discovered yet due to the difficulty getting there. Not only is it a rain forest, but the area is quite remote and requires back packing and taking boats on rivers to get there.
Bobby is continuing his gaming and YouTube days. He will be going to school on Monday as his roughly week long “recovery period” from COVID will be over.
