Day #5393 – (Fri., Oct. 11, 2024) – Trip To Vancouver!

Bobby rode his bike to school for the first time this morning, and home again when school ended at 2:30 pm!

Our 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid is ready! We went to pick it up just before noon. After paying for it, we needed to drive the van to Waypoint to get insurance on it, then back to the Toyota dealership to get a list of the features of the car, and drive it home. Cheryl, the saleslady, gave us a gift package of snacks… It’s amazing! All you need to do to get a package of $3 snacks is to purchase a $10,000+ car!

My wife and Katie took the van to Nanaimo at 2 pm this afternoon. They will be taking the ferry to Vancouver where they will seeing Cirque du Soleil and doing a bit of shopping. They will be home on Monday, which is Canadian Thanksgiving Day! You can see Katie on the ferry in the photo to the left.

When Bobby got home we went to McDonalds for a Daddy/Son Chat so that he could get a cheeseburger, fries, and Fruitopia. I told him that I didn’t want to eat in the car till we get the seat covers on, so he opted to go home rather than eat in the store. When we got home he wanted to take a bath. He’s very independent today! He fed Batman and made himself a PB&J this evening.

My wife and Katie checked into their Vancouver hotel room this evening and then wandered out downtown to have a pizza for dinner (see photo to the right)! They found an underground mall and got some lotions at Bath & Body Works. Stores seemed to close around 9 pm so they wandered back to the hotel.

Maple mopped around for most of the evening waiting for mom to come home… I coaxed her up to Bobby’s room to sleep, but she wandered back downstairs in the middle of the night. I’m sleeping in Katie’s room with Batman, and Batman slept in various locations throughout the night…first the bed, then the cat tree, then the other cat tree…
