Day #5394 – (Sat., Oct. 12, 2024) – Cirque du Soleil

Bobby is in very independent mode today. I think he’s trying to show how grown up he is. He fed Batman and made himself breakfast. Maple wandered downstairs in the middle of the night to wait for mom to arrive home…

We were out of milk so I wandered down to the “Great Canadian Superstore” for supplies this afternoon. Two milk, one orange juice, which are pretty regular entries on our grocery list. My wife also wanted me to pick up something for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner, which will be this upcoming Monday night. Katie and her will be back home around 5 pm, so I wanted to get something ready. It didn’t seem like they had much, unless you want to cook a whole turkey, which I do not, so I picked up some turkey tv dinners (see photo to the right). I remember taking about how popular they were growing up, and her being confused about them, so here is her chance to try one! Not sure how Bobby will take to it.

I also wanted to pick up some ice cream for the pumpkin pie I bought, and guess what I would find in the freezer section? Butterscotch Ripple Ice Cream! My favorite as a child! I just had to get some of that! It seems to have lost its market share since I was a kid, probably due to the influx of more popular flavors like cookies and cream and “Moosetracks”!

Bobby spent quite a bit of time talking and playing online with Ethan today. I made him a pizza for dinner tonight, and along with a glass of milk and an “Arctic Bar” (Canada’s version of the Klondike Bar), he was happy. He tended to Maple and Batman before getting ready for bed at 8:15 pm this evening!

The girls went mall shopping in Vancouver this afternoon, and saw Cirque du Soleil this evening, which was the main reason for the trip. They also visited the Emily Carr University this afternoon, where Katie “might hopefully” be going to art school one day.
