Well here it is “Election Eve”. Since we are on pacific time here in Courtenay, by early tomorrow evening we will have a pretty good idea on how the election will go…
This morning the chickens were digging holes in the ground inside their coop. My wife said that they love to do this and that it’s just them “having fun” and “dust bathing”, but it sure looked strange…
My wife dropped Katie off at a new orchestra location this evening. It’s now being held at the North Island Distance Education School, 2505 Smith Road, just up the Island Highway from our house. She then took Bobby to martial arts class, which let out at 5:30 pm.
Katie’s orchestra class let out at 6 pm, and since it’s pretty close to dark at that time here in Courtenay, I went to pick her up. We then decided to have a Daddy/Daughter chat day, so we went to Starbucks.
I picked up a chocolate “Toonie” for Katie and Bobby when I was at Dollarama this afternoon (see photo to the right).
I told Katie that although she misses her friends in Chapel Hill, she has a golden opportunity to pursue something that I’ve always regretted in my own personal life, having a great “best friend forever” and nurturing that relationship as I moved forward in life. She has such a potential in Anika. We talked about that and the possibility of extending their friend group to other friends as well via the art club at Vanier.
