Today is the day we have either been waiting for, or dreading, the US election! It has a potentially huge impact on Canada!
Katie is home sick today but Bobby went to school.
I picked Bobby up from school today (see photo to the left). We have plans as a family to sit around the television in the family and watch the U.S.A. election returns come in. Since we are on the pacific coast, the polls will start to close around 4 pm our time! They made some changes to the system since 2000, so I’m told that counts will come in fast and furious, except for Milwaukee, which needs to take the ballots after their poll closes to another location and count them… In a battleground state no less… Go figure…
Bobby told me that Gavin and he had a disagreement over a soccer goal. One said it was in, and the other said it was out. Gavin decided to throw a soccer ball at Bobby’s head, and the referee told him to play nice…
Bobby also told me that on the first day of school one of his classmates Bowen hit him over some dispute about seating arrangements. Bobby said that if he had a problem with the seating arrangements he needed to discuss it with the teacher.
I asked Bobby if we needed to get involved with this and he said it was fine. He didn’t seem overly upset, but I told him that it was important to act on things that bother you too much so that they don’t fester over time.
I watched the US Election returns in the family room with the family this evening. Trump was close to winning when we all went to bed around 10 pm pacific standard time.
