Day #5457 – (Sat., Dec. 14, 2024) – Hello Strings Christmas Concert
The washer in the main house is waiting for a part, so my wife did the bulk of the washing in the “Barn Suite” today. Hopefully the part will arrive early next week and we will be back in business.
This evening was the “Ode to Joy” 2024 Hello Strings Christmas Concert. You can see the orchestra in the photo to the left. Can you spot Katie?
I took Katie to rehearsal at 4:30 pm this afternoon, then back home at 5:30 pm. The kids then opened their Advent Calendars when we got back. Bobby received another Lego set for his “Planet System”, and Katie received some moisturizing cream.
All four of us then left at 6:30 pm for the 7:00 pm concert to be held at the church in Comox where the kids had their orchestra camp during the summer.
Katie brought Arlene, her fellow celloist to meet us in the audience.
The concert opened with Pachebel’s Cannon. Melot did a tap dance routine to “The Typewriter”. Aside from the main orchestra there were pieces featuring bag pipes and saxophones as well.
Bobby got a little tired towards the end and actually lied down on the pews…
