This morning the van got stuck in the driveway between the gates due to all the frozen ice on the driveway. I’m going to go out and get a bag of sand for the driveway when I feel better. Right now my wife and I seem to have what Bobby has, a bad cough that won’t clear up. None of us tested positive for COVID, yet…
Katie and Anika went shopping in downtown Courtenay after school today. They did a bit of “Thrifting” and picked up a Boba as well. The belt buckle they found (see photo to the right) reminded Katie of Howard Wolowitz from the “Big Bang Theory”. Howard is fond of (and collects) decorator belt buckles, though he jokingly claims to own only one belt; his collection includes a NES controller, a silver Batman logo, a 45 RPM record insert, a Klingon communicator, and a buckle featuring the superhero the Flash. He also typically wears a turtleneck or dickey with an Alienware lapel pin on the collar.

Katie also has a new favorite store, La Cache, on 5th street in downtown Courtenay. It sells clothes, jewelry, and room decor (see photo to the left).
Bobby has been missing so many days due to sickness that we are having problems with the messenger system in which we report his sickness. My wife sent his teacher, Ms. Nelson, the following email:
I’m having trouble with the school messenger today. Bobby is still sick. He is getting better though and we are very hopeful he’ll be at school tomorrow! Ms. Nelson, if he does make it to school tomorrow, his lungs are still on the weak side (his oxygen level is 97% today, which is great progress from 94% just two days ago, but still not perfect), so if he can take it easy during PE, it would be great.
Katie has been helping her mom do puzzles in the living room as of late. They have a table especially made to house them for protection while they are being worked on.
