It’s daddy’s birthday today!
My wife made an appointment for me at Urgent Care this morning at 10:15 am. Things went pretty smoothly actually. As soon as the doctor heard my lungs she said that she thinks I have pneumonia and wrote me a prescription for a ZPac. Since Courtenay Pharmacy is closed on Sundays they made it out for Shoppers Drug Mart. It wasn’t ready when I went to pick it up so my wife picked it up later in the day.

When I got home the family had some birthday gifts ready for me. The main present was a “Man Cave” license plate (see photo to the right) that I will proudly display at the entrance to the “Barn Suite”! Bobby wanted to perform the same “trick” that I did do him when they were opening the Advent Calendars this past Christmas. They put a box within a box till the license plate emerged. Fortunately they didn’t use duct tape or that would have made the whole opening process even more difficult.

Katie also wrote me a nice birthday card (see photo to the left). The text, in case you can’t read it, says: “Happy Birthday, Dad! (from Katie)
Lately, the Gratitude Journal I’ve been doing has made me think about things I’m grateful for. Often I find myself writing things like “My knowledge of business” or “my maturity”, but when I think about it, I didn’t teach myself that: You did! When we go on our drives, I feel like I gain a new perspective or idea each time. You motivate me to keep going, becuase high school isn’t the end of the world. So thank you, dad, for being someone I look up to every day“.
You know, if I had been feeling better it would have been nice to get an ice cream cake for my birthday. Not that I would have any of course, but the kids really like ice cream cakes. I digress…

Bobby wrote me a birthday card as well (see photo to the right). It says: “Dear Dad, Thanks for being the best dad over the years! Both me, and Katie both really appreciate your efforts to make the world a better place for us! I just wanted to say thanks for everything you’ve done for us! Sincerely, Bobby and Katie?“
It’s nice to know that all my efforts to help them grow up and navigate this world are appreciated.
After I got my ZPac I went to bed and slept for most of the day. Happy Birthday! I’m still not 100% as I write this after getting up, but I’m hopefully that this ZPac will do the trick over the upcoming days…
