Katie got up crying at 4am this morning so I took the baby monitor and got her out of bed. She was crying so much…I just held her and we watched an old episode of “All In The Family” together (the one where Stephanie comes to stay with them). I made milk and she didn’t want to drink and I made milk and she didn’t want to eat. Around 5am she got tired and I put her to bed.
Around 6am she started to cry again so I went to pick her up. Once again she rested and slept in my arms. We watched a bit of the news. By this time my mother-in-law was up. When the garbage trucks came by around 7am I took Katie to see them. As they were leaving I said “Bye Trucks” and she cried and cried. All this commotion woke my wife up. I guess that she is really getting to understand what “Leaving” and “Bye” means…
This evening my mother-in-law to Katie to the hobby train store off Buck Jones Road. Katie enjoyed seeing the trains and pushing the buttons to make the model railway run.
We then went to the gardens near NC State. That Katie is some smart…she remembered where we saw the train the last time we were here and ran to that exact location.
On the way home we passed the Cary Train Station (see photo to the right). It was 4:57pm and the train from Raleigh was coming soon so we decided to wait. Katie actually started to laugh as she saw it coming. This was the first time she got to see a big train up close. She cried when it left the station.
